Wedding Signage Roundup

One of the most important, yet overlook wedding detail is signage. Signs can be utilized for just about anything... to add some oomph to a ceremony backdrop; to lead guests in the correct direction; to act as playful props to the bridal party photos; to save a seat for the VIP's at the ceremony; to sit atop your cake as a dessert-topper; and of course, to let guests know how to hashtag this awesome day on their Instagram

Graphic design is so fun and interesting.  Well-designed and well-placed signage can really take an event space to the next level.  Chalkboard signs are still going strong and hand-painted lettering is also a popular choice.  Other new trends are mirrors and our new favorite acrylic signs.

Here are a few of our most favorite:

Sharing your Love Story!

October 11, 2018 Lori Losee

What better way to personalize your wedding than to share with your guests the real reason why they are there in the first place! I am a total hopeless romantic so I love to know the cute details about how you two met, when you started dating, awesome dates that you have been on, how he proposed, etc. and I know that all of your other nosey guests are interested too! I think the best way to do so is through pictures. Having a power point video of a bunch of pictures and a playlist of your favorite songs is a great way to do that, or incorporate some picture frames of the two of you for the centerpieces at each table. I've even seen a table runner made of pictures going down the tables as well. This also gives guests something to look at while they are sitting down with their drinks or waiting for dinner. You can also share some fun facts about the two of you in a "bio" section of your programs. Or you could make it simple and list out some of the important dates on a chalkboard for guests to see as they are walking in. "December 12th, 2010: the first day we met. January 5th, 2011: our first date. October 3rd, 2014: He asked, I said yes!" etc. And then my personal favorite, I attended a very fun wedding this summer where the man that ordained the bride and groom was also the person who had introduced them as kids many years ago! He cracked a couple jokes about the two and told a few funny stories about them during the ceremony, it was very sweet! I personally think it is a cute idea to add a little personality into the ceremony or to your vows to liven it up a little bit. Everyone's love story is very different and unique, and it is a perfect touch to share a little bit of it on your big day!

What is your Wedding Style?

October 9, 2018 Lori Losee

When planning a wedding a bride has so many choices that can be completely overwhelming and before any planning can start she must decide on a wedding style. Does she want a formal black tie affair or a romantic whimsical, outdoorsy style wedding? Once you decide on your style, the actual planning of the wedding will be much easier. In order to choose a style there are a couple of questions you should ask.

1) What time of year do I want my wedding? You most likely would not want to have an outdoor forest wedding in the middle of December, so the time of year matters to the specific style of wedding you want.

2)Next ask yourself if you want a really big wedding or a more intimate affair.

3)When thinking about my wedding, what three adjectives come to mind? If your adjectives are elegant, classy, and modern your wedding style will be much different from a wedding that is casual, relaxed, and festive.

4) Knowing what time of year you want your wedding can also help you pick the colors of your wedding. If you choose to get married in October than oranges, olive greens, and deep plum purples would be an excellent color scheme. You probably will not be seeing a lot of baby pink and light green in a fall/winter wedding.

5) Lastly, decide if you want a wedding planner, and if you do want one decide how much you want the planner to be involved. Having a wedding planner can take so much of the stress away. They will be that middleman to deal with all the vendors and make it so you have a fun and stress free wedding planning process. Not to mention they will be your saving grace come your actual wedding day. Let’s face it, who wants to be setting up there own tables and going on ice runs the day of their wedding. A wedding planner is also a great choice because they can help you figure out what you want if you are not completely sure.

Every bride is different and no matter what they choose, as long as the bride is happy you really cannot go wrong.
