Perfect Spring Wedding | Annie + Richie | Liljebeck Farms

October 28, 2021 Lori Losee

Wedding Planner: Elegant Affairs | Photographer: Caitlyn Nikula | Florist: Floral Design by Maria | Venue: Liljebeck Farms | Beauty: Bridal Beauty Agency + Divine Touch | Catering: Maverick Catering | Rentals: Cort Party Rental | DJ: DJ Rian Souleles

One of the best ways to know you are good at what you do is when couples get referred to us. For Annie + Richie, it was the bride’s sister who referred us. I have know her for many years serving as her sorority advisor and then collaborating on a project a few years ago. So when her sister got engaged she put Annie in touch with us.

Originally these two were supposed to get married in September but decided to postpone to have a wedding closer to their vision even during a pandemic. Once the couple decided on a new date, they came to the realization they wanted a new venue to align with their new vision and that was Liljebeck Farms, located in Woodinville, a newer venue that because the perfect place to say I Do. This venue truly has it all including a beautiful indoor and outdoor ceremony locations and an incredible reception space. Personally, I am a huge fan of both of the getting ready areas.

Annie + Richie had the most perfect wedding, and we are so happy that they finally got to have their wedding day and it was so beautiful.

One of the best traditions for this new venue is that couples get to brand their names on their Sweethearts wall. What a great way to forever cement your wedding and for a lifelong memory.

Congrats Annie + Richie and we wish you all the love and happiness in the world.

Dream Garden Wedding | Stephen + Lauren | Rock Creek Gardens

October 26, 2021 Lori Losee

Wedding Planner: Elegant Affairs | Photographer: Sarah Harris Photography | Videography: West of Wonder | Florist: Oak and Fig Floral | Caterer: Gallucci’s | Rentals: Cort + Balancing Balloons | Dessert: Better Than a Boyfriend Bakery | Beauty: ZO & CO Styling | Wedding Dresses: I Do Bridal | Groom’s Attire: Men’s Wearhouse | DJ: DJ Brent | Venue: Rock Creek Gardens

From the first time I met these two, I knew I had found my wedding soulmates.

Upon our first meeting in May 2019, I just fell in love with Lauren, Stephen, and their daughter Evie. I was also shocked that the first thing they told me was that they had just found out hours before our meeting that they were expecting baby #2. I felt I was immediately part of their family with the sharing of this exciting news.

As we got to know one another, I feel such a connection to Lauren. From finding out we basically were living the same life, from going to the same high school and college to just our overall personality I felt like we were the same person. If you would spend 10 minutes with us you would totally understand.

Originally, we planned their wedding at Rock Creek Gardens for September 2020. But as we got closer to their wedding, we knew we had to switch gears due to the pandemic and rescheduled for May 2021. I am so grateful for these two. They rolled with all the punches thrown their way and just were total rock stars.

Very little changed in terms of planning going from a fall to spring wedding and we had assembled a dream vendor team who really outdid themselves to create the wedding these two really deserved.

I loved everything about their wedding design. From the color palette of white, green, and a hint of gold and how we translated it to their reception. From the velvet linens to the over the top centerpieces, this wedding has become one of my all-time favorites.

Throughout our nearly 2 years of planning their wedding, I really got to know this family and so grateful to have met such incredible people that truly have become such great friends.

Thank you Lauren + Stephen was choosing me to part of your family.

2021 Wedding Season Recap

October 19, 2021 Lori Losee

Hatch Photography

Well, 2021 that’s officially a wrap!

When the year started, we had no idea how this wedding season was going to look like! To be honest we were very worried if we were going to have any weddings at all. It felt like we were getting weekly if not daily updates from the governor’s offices about what weddings were going to look like then it varied by counties, which made it even tougher since we have weddings all over the state.

As a Seattle Wedding Planner, you had to be prepared for any and everything thrown our way, so the decision was made early on when the pandemic started, we were going to be totally honest and transparent with our couples about the rules and what their weddings were going to look like.

I hated being the bearer of bad news every time, but in the end, I know our clients appreciated our transparency and knew we had their best interest in mind when it came to their wedding visions, and I know that each and every client appreciated it.

We started off the year in April with an intimate brunch Seattle wedding on a hotel rooftop followed up by a 1st wedding anniversary celebration for an incredible couple. The next week saw us having two stunning weddings which had both been postponed from September.

Dealing with the insane heat that we saw in June and July was something for the record books. Making wedding magic when it was 113 degrees, I just look back and wonder how did we not melt that day. I’m grateful for my car’s amazing AC during our quick breaks to cool off and the venue’s misting machine for getting us through the 12-hour day.

We continued the season traveling up and down Puget Sound and then over to Walla Walla in August. Our season concluded in October at one of our favorite venues.

We loved working with all of our couples and vendors and made some great friendships that I know will last for many years to come!

I do have to add I had one special vendor I loved working with for the first time and I know it won’t be the last was my son Grant. He served as part of Oak + Fig Floral crew on a few weddings and did a great job. We even teamed up on one wedding and he loved that I was part of his team. I think we will be seeing a lot of Grant this summer as part of the set-up crew for Elegant Affairs.

Our season wouldn’t be what it was without our incredible team of Lisa and Ally. But I need to do a personal shoutout to Tiphany! She first came onto the team the summer of 2020 and I don’t know what I would have done without her in 2021. She has been my rock and is such a great addition to the team and she is now accepting her own weddings for 2022 and beyond!

Now, as we reflect on the year we take what we learned and excelled at and take those lessons and apply them to all of our 2022 weddings to make next year even better!

We cannot wait for 2022, so bring it!

Here are photos with a few of our 2021 couples. I always try to get photos at every wedding, but sometimes we just forget. Something we are going to work on for 2022!
