Kylee and Cody are straight out of a romantic comedy. They met at Central Washington University. She was a soccer player and he was a football player. It was love at first match, one could say. I had the pleasure of knowing the groom, since he was younger, and our team was thrilled to hop on board and help them plan their special day!

The couple chose Mount Peak Farm as their venue for their wedding day. This location is stunning, and we mean stunning. Nestled in the countryside of King County, the wide open spaces and views of open fields, Mount Rainier and Mount Peak provide an amazing backdrop for a ceremony. Now, their wedding was a classic case of why it’s necessary to have a backup plan. In hindsight, planning a wedding in June, you’d think that the weather would cooperate. Well, the wedding was threatened by stormy weather, so we had to create and quickly decide on a plan b. We chose to move their ceremony to the tented reception. Although this wasn’t the exact vision we had set out for, the ceremony was still magnificent. Cody’s father, created a custom arbor for the ceremony space and it was a modern, but rustic, touch for their nuptials.

The reception featured classic hues of blue with the table runners and glasses. The wedding centerpieces reminded us of the farm’s background, with white anemones, white accent florals, fresh greenery, and thistles. The centerpieces gave a whimsical, yet modern touch. The color blue carried on throughout the reception, with features in the cake and more.

Kylee and Cody’s wedding was a modern take on farm wedding and proof that you can still have your perfect wedding day, even if you had to resort to plan b.
