Upon meeting Alice and Will, I instantly fell in love with their story as a couple and their two young daughters. I have had the pleasure of knowing them since October 2020, when Alice’s brother tied the knot with our help. Alice was so helpful that day and Will was my muscle when the wind decided to pick up right before the wedding ceremony.
Growing up on Vashon Island, Alice was torn when it came to finding the perfect wedding venue but after several tours, when we entered The Lodges on Vashon the couple knew this was the perfect spot to say I Do. The Lodges at Vashon is a highly desirable venue, that provides the perfect rustic, with a modern twist, venue for a wedding day.
Now, if you’re a reader of our blogs, you know that emergencies can happen. Most of the time, emergencies can be easily mended with a phone call or our handy emergency kit. But, for Alice and Will, their rehearsal will always leave some fluid memories. The rental company hit a water pipe and flooded the area that was tented. The whole area was flooded, filled with water. With the bride’s ties to the community, it was if the whole community came together to help fix the flooded reception area. Will, the groom, happened to be a general contractor, and with the help of his groomsmen and the Vashon community, the problem was amended. The sun came out and the hot weather dried the area and the couple was able to hold their event in their desired spot. The couple made sure to use this event, as a part of their wedding day, by having their wedding guests sign the broken water pipe as their guest book.
Their wedding was nothing short of beautiful. Their ceremony was nestled under the forest greenery, under a large tree. Their family friend officiated the wedding and their wedding reception was unforgettable with the musical talents of the Blue Wave Band. The couple opted for rustic decor, with rich wood tones, fresh eucalyptus and hues of white linens. Guests dined under the lights, tented from the hot sun. The couple even surprised their guests with pizza for the afterparty. Guests danced the night away eating on some delicious treats.
Alice and Will’s wedding will always be an unforgettable wedding. Teamwork, by the whole wedding party, and Elegant Affair staff, and Vashon community was the highlight of their wedding weekend.
