Meet Rachel + Ryan. If there’s something to know about Rachel and Ryan, it’s that family is at the heart of it all. Rachel and Ryan’s wedding day was filled with people they loved and they utilized their family in special ways on their big day. We can honestly say that their wedding was truly a family affair. So, let’s dive into their rustic event, one detail at a time. 

Their wedding venue was the lush and gorgeous Trinity Tree Farm. Trinity Tree Farm is nestled in Issaquah, Washington deep in the heart of the Northwest. The venue is home to various rustic features, perfect for guests who love and enjoy the pacific northwest outdoors.

Their photographer, Wanderlost Imagery, captured the essence of their wedding throughout the day. We designed Rachel and Ryan’s ceremony space on the green lawn of the venue. With the venue’s pride and joy, trees of course, creating the perfect backdrop to say their nuptials. Pops of white florals and classic chairs created a contrast to the green scenery of the space.

Their ceremony included meaningful touches of family. Rachel and Ryan said “I Do” with the help of Rachel’s grandfather. Her grandfather had the role of the officiant for their ceremony. Rachel’s dress, from I Do Bridal, added an intricate touch to their wedding day. She paired her stunning tulle and lace dress with a headpiece passed down throughout her family. 

As the ceremony closed, guests were ushered into the cozy reception venue. The lodge was the perfect backdrop for dinner, which included dazzling twinkle lights from the ceiling. We worked with the couple to tie in some of the key features of their venue. Their reception tables were named after different types of trees and their centerpieces gave ode to the scenery outside.

Tables were filled with warm candlelight, fresh greenery, while floral scents filled the air. Hydrangeas and dainty ranunculus added some contrast to the wedding reception tables. Their guests enjoyed a tasty and heartfelt dinner by the Tall Chef, who specializes in events and weddings within the pacific northwest. Guests danced the night away with entertainment, by Dubreezy entertainment. 

This wedding was the perfect way to start our summer wedding season. Rachel and Ryan created a warm, family affair that celebrated their love. Their wedding featured what the pacific northwest is known for, lush scenery and fresh air.

Meet Dani and Ross. Dani and Ross lived in Tampa, Florida, but got engaged in our beloved emerald city - Seattle. They’ve shared their hopes and dreams together and started a family, with their beautiful son, Aiden. And of course, they had a fur baby, Princess Heidi. The moment we met Dani and Ross, we knew that they had built a strong foundation filled with love. To witness their love was truly remarkable and we were so thankful to be invited along on their journey. 

Ross and Dani tied the knot in a courthouse wedding. They knew that they wanted to hold a wedding and reception, so their family, friends, and son - could celebrate after their elopement. What better way to celebrate, than in the city they said “yes” in - Seattle! With being located in Tampa, they needed some support along the way with planning.

They hired our team at Elegant Affairs and we jumped right in with the planning! We have ample experience working with couples who are out of town, or long distance. At Elegant Affairs we find creative ways to keep our long distance couples an active member of the planning process. We had selected a venue at first, but then had to find a venue with only six weeks until the wedding day. Now, yes – this caused some anxiety and felt like a punch in the gut, but honestly, moving venues turned out to be the best decision.

We helped our couple find a new venue, the Olympic Rooftop Pavilion. This new location truly fit their needs, wants, and ended up being the perfect background for their wedding celebration. The Olympic Rooftop Pavilion has beautiful scenery from top to bottom. The ceremony area was filled with sunshine, due to the light from the floor to ceiling windows and skylight. Lori Losee, owner of Elegant Affairs, had the honors of officiating the vow renewal. And the couple opted for some classic wedding day traditions, such as waiting to see each other until they said “I Do.”

The ceremony space was flipped to hold Dani and Ross’ lively, but elegant reception. The reception table settings were sexy and modern. We selected long tables, with hues of black tablecloths. Guests ate their dinner by romantic floating candlelight. Florist, Oak and Fig Floral, outdid themselves with the simple table greenery and extravagant floral arrangements. 

We enjoyed joining Dani and Ross on their love journey. Even though they lived across the country from our team, we formed a strong bond. We were even tasked with finding a new venue only weeks before the wedding but delivered one of our favorite weddings of the season. Dani and Ross just welcomed their second son and we are so excited to watch their love grow.

A Covid Redo | Betty + Marcus | Metropolist

Meet Betty and Marcus. Betty and Marcus met in Seattle through Bumble, and soon explored their new city together. They knew they were meant for each other, because of their fond love of Chipotle and having similar holiday memories - it was of course serendipity. The more time the couple spent together, the more they realized it was fate. Betty and Marcus got engaged in 2019, with grand plans of having their dream wedding in 2020.

Well, we all know what happened in 2020 - the dreaded Covid-19. So, Betty and Marcus tied the knot, through an elopement, with a little help from actor Joel Hale. They knew that down the road they would want to opt for a celebration with family and friends, so they decided to plan a vow renewal to share their love. 

We were so excited to be a part of Betty and Marcus’s love story. In fact, it was Tiphany’s first wedding as the Lead planner for Elegant Affairs. Our couple chose to hold their vow renewal at the Metropolist, nestled in Sodo Seattle. This venue was the perfect, modern spot - with an industrial twist. The setting stayed true to the hip culture of Seattle, the city that started their love story.

With thorough planning, our team and couple adorned the venue with touches of greenery and simple, but fresh twists. The couple even created their own hanging floral hoop as their ceremony focal point, a greenery wall for a pop of color, and potted plants throughout.

We wanted to let the unique structure and elements of the Metropolist shine through the big day. Betty and Marcus’s guest book was out of the box, as a natural wood puzzle, where guests could write a note for later.

For dinner, guests enjoyed dining on the couple’s favorite food, Chipotle, of course. We loved seeing our couple tie in something that brought them together, with their food. And, talk about easy and sustainable clean up. Using a non-traditional caterer, such as a food truck or your favorite restaurant, is a fun way to add a meaningful touch to your wedding day.

Reception farmhouse tables were filled with small vases filled with a variety of red florals. As the reception fun began, Carley Janey Photography snapped photos of the night through her shots and photobooth. Guests loved trying sophisticated macaroons, created by Lady Yum. 

Betty and Marcus were able to make their celebrations come through with the help of their vendors and venue. Their family and friends were able to partake in their beautiful vow renewal and celebrate the night away.

When there were issues with a catering company on the day of the reception, they took care of it so well we didn't even know there had been a problem until the next day.
