A Winter Sneak Peak

Although we’re in the sweet, colorful throes of fall (and we love it), it’s always fun to take a look ahead at what’s to come as the winter months creep up. Don’t let the drop in temperature fool you; winter is the perfect setting for a cozy, warm, and intimate wedding. Here is what we’re going to see in the future months of December and January.

Silver, white, gold. Instead of basing your color pallet off of holiday colors such as reds and greens, expand your horizons a little bit more into something sporting a modern feel. We’re going see neutral colors that are anything but dull in winter 2017; creamy champagnes offset by gold accents, stark white paired with silver, and ivory hues with a splash of bold navy blues and a bit of sparkle are all going to be well in season.

Full flowers. This winter we’re hoping to embrace the fuller flower look. Consider a flower like hydrangeas; full, easy to display, and a variety of beautiful colors to choose from. White hydrangeas are sure to make an appearance this winter.

Formal. After experiencing more of a casual theme during the summers of 2015 and 2016, this winter is hoping to reintroduce the idea of white tie. Formalwear is sure to be seen as the winter months approach. Clean tuxedos and long gowns will be a refreshing reintroduction to old Hollywood glamour and elegance.

Warm drinks. Hot chocolate and apple cider are always a safe go-to choice for the cold winter months, but this year we’re hoping to see weddings break out of the box a little with their beverages of choice. Consider a new twist on these classic drinks; white hot chocolate and mulled wine are delicious alternatives to keeping your guests feeling cozy and toasty the whole night through.

Vintage. If you’re looking for a style to embrace this winter, it’s vintage. We’re talking classic and elegant vintage! Adding furnishings such as a restored armoire or 1940’s velvet couch will showcase this theme. Even leaving the armoire the way it is without restoring it will add a rugged vintage look that you can play up with lace and/or candles.

No season should be left out when you’re deciding which will host your big day, but winter especially shouldn’t be ruled out immediately. There are so many creative and beautiful ways to arrange a winter event! This is only a glimpse of what’s to come in 2017!
