Meet Betty and Marcus. Betty and Marcus met in Seattle through Bumble, and soon explored their new city together. They knew they were meant for each other, because of their fond love of Chipotle and having similar holiday memories - it was of course serendipity. The more time the couple spent together, the more they realized it was fate. Betty and Marcus got engaged in 2019, with grand plans of having their dream wedding in 2020.
Well, we all know what happened in 2020 - the dreaded Covid-19. So, Betty and Marcus tied the knot, through an elopement, with a little help from actor Joel Hale. They knew that down the road they would want to opt for a celebration with family and friends, so they decided to plan a vow renewal to share their love.
We were so excited to be a part of Betty and Marcus’s love story. In fact, it was Tiphany’s first wedding as the Lead planner for Elegant Affairs. Our couple chose to hold their vow renewal at the Metropolist, nestled in Sodo Seattle. This venue was the perfect, modern spot - with an industrial twist. The setting stayed true to the hip culture of Seattle, the city that started their love story.
With thorough planning, our team and couple adorned the venue with touches of greenery and simple, but fresh twists. The couple even created their own hanging floral hoop as their ceremony focal point, a greenery wall for a pop of color, and potted plants throughout.
We wanted to let the unique structure and elements of the Metropolist shine through the big day. Betty and Marcus’s guest book was out of the box, as a natural wood puzzle, where guests could write a note for later.
For dinner, guests enjoyed dining on the couple’s favorite food, Chipotle, of course. We loved seeing our couple tie in something that brought them together, with their food. And, talk about easy and sustainable clean up. Using a non-traditional caterer, such as a food truck or your favorite restaurant, is a fun way to add a meaningful touch to your wedding day.
Reception farmhouse tables were filled with small vases filled with a variety of red florals. As the reception fun began, Carley Janey Photography snapped photos of the night through her shots and photobooth. Guests loved trying sophisticated macaroons, created by Lady Yum.
Betty and Marcus were able to make their celebrations come through with the help of their vendors and venue. Their family and friends were able to partake in their beautiful vow renewal and celebrate the night away.
