There is no greater joy for me than to watch two incredible people wed, but it’s even more special when you know the couple so closely. I had the honor to have known our bride Chelsea for over 10 years from her collegiate days at Washington State University when I was her Alpha Phi sorority advisor. Then I was lucky enough to have her serve on my team as an intern and then really got to know her even more and develop a very close relationship and remained in touch after.

So it was no big surprise when Paul popped the question that she reached out asking if I can be part of her dream team vendor squad for her destination wedding at Sun Mountain Lodge in Winthrop, WA. last September.

To best describe this all Coug wedding was simple, Boho Chic and everything about this wedding fit this theme perfectly. From the incredible flowers by Dandy Flower Co. to the ceremony set-up in the round (which you know is my favorite) to the reception layout down at the base of the mountain at the lake, this was just about the perfect wedding.

There were so many things to obsess about this wedding, from the bride’s request that all her female guests wear fascinators, an ode to her love of them. I even donned one for the celebration and I know why she loves them.

Now, we have to talk about the ceremony, performed by the bride’s late father’s best friend. Filled with both happy and sad tears and great stories and even blue raspberry ring pops. All of this, combined with the breathtaking views over the Methow Valley provided memorable moments for all to treasure and remember for always.

We were truly in for a treat for the reception, complete with a spectacular lightning show off into the distance and the best dance party to end the evening.

It’s not everyday you get a call from a long time family friend 6 weeks before their destination wedding asking you to step in to be their wedding planner when theirs cancelled on them. Well, that’s just what happened for Blake + Allie’s Todos Santos Wedding.

Of course I quickly accepted her request and we immediately began finalizing all of the details for their Mexican Wedding for 135 guests. We had a great team of vendors including the staff at Hotel San Cristobal who helped to secure all florals for me to construct all of the bridal bouquets and centerpieces.

What makes this newer hotel stand out was that its really inclusive including a beautiful chapel with a curved roof and stunning wood benches with fabulous acoustics which was perfect for their friend who serenaded the couple alongside his guitar.

Another highlight for me this wedding was Einstein, the beer toting donkey that greeted guests after the ceremony. He was so sweet and made me want to have an animal at all of my weddings.

On Wedding Day,  I woke up to rain (for the second time on our trip) even after being told, “oh it never rains in February.” But it turned out to be a magical thing as it made everything look new and shiny.

We love brides like Allie. She was super organized and have every detail planned out and we just had to execute. It was that special attention to detail that really took their wedding to the next level including her papel picado insipried place cards which has now become my new paper decor piece.  

Trust me when I tell you this was not just a wedding day, but a wedding experience with all of the fun events leading up to the big day including a pool party led by Pullman-based DJ Goldfinger. If you are a Coug you know exactly how this party went!!! 

For myself everything couldnt have gone more perfect and we were so happy to have been happy to help Allie + Blake have their magical destination wedding.  

And we are off....another Wedding in Mexico!

And just like that we are off to Mexico!

It’s so crazy how we have wanted to do more destination weddings (INTERNATIONALLY) and we lucked out but going down to Mexico for the second time in nine months. This time we are celebrating with Nic + Kylee.

We met the bride over two years ago when she served as the Maid of Honor of another wedding of ours and we just stayed in touch and then I got the email that she was engaged and wanted to chat about her destination wedding.

It was fitting that when we went down last February for our Todos Santos Wedding (make sure to come back on Thursday to see more from Blake + Allie’s Wedding) that we were able to take a day trip down to Cabo and tour the couple’s wedding venue. When we walked down to the site I was first blown away by the view and what all this resort had to offer.

Now it’s just hard to believe that nearly 14 months of planning has led to this day.
