Mountaintop Styled Shoot

We were so blessed to have one of the funniest styled shoots I have ever done published on Wedding Chicks recently. On an usually warm day in February a dream of vendors descended on Mount Erie in Anacortes for what could only be described as magical.

Lucky enough to work with a few vendors already including Betty from Betty Globa Photography and Bridal Rachelle Witt, we created true beauty along with the help of our stunning model Rachel Davis who wore our two bridal gowns like no one other could.

With the beautiful location, we were able to create two table looks and showcase a variety of vendors and we were all so pleased with how the shoot turned out.

Tucked into the cliff side of Mount Erie we channeled spring time complete with two wedding dresses and two different tablescape inspirations to compliment both looks.

Overlooking the beautiful waterways of the Puget Sounds, we hiked down to the best location to truly capture the sunset of this day.

For our first look, using the color palette that best reflected our wedding dress, we choose creams, silver, gold and rose gold. For our pop of color we used bordeaux in our napkins and cake and linen for the cake table.

For our floral wedding dress, we chose to go bold using the colors from the dress of gold, green and a pop of bordeaux we used a green linen with gold overlay.

Décor on both tables were focused on highlighting the dress and amazing florals with adding a few accent pieces.

The highlight of our day was the beautiful sunset which illuminated the sky which we captured via drone.

Real Wedding: Megan + Steve

For Megan + Steve,  celebrating their lifetime commitment and the bringing together of two families they wanted the perfect venue that would fit their theme of a truly Northwest inspired wedding. By bringing together their families from California and Idaho, the Seattle Aquarium was the ideal location.

In working with these two incredible people, their main requirement for their wedding was FUN! Between walking through the exhibits during their cocktail hour, watching an otter feeding and the musically stylings of The Michael Benson Band, these two truly succeeded in every way possible. Not to mention the incredible dessert table by Dianne's Delights.

Between their emotional first look to their heartfelt ceremony performed by their friend Juan, anyone at this wedding could really feel just how much love was being shared that day and they were off to a great start as husband and wife.

One of my favorite parts of the day was the entertainment provided by the fish inside the tank behind the head table. They were truly enthralled by the music and it was a show all in itself.

The one challenge we did face was the City of Seattle waterfront construction right in front of the venue. To be creative and hide what was going on outside, Prop Gallery did a phenomenal job draping off the windows. It was the perfect accent to the river rock filled cylinder vases with coral florals. The addition of the gray napkins made the table really pop.

Even though when the party ended at the Aquarium the after party was just really the start of the night for this fantastic group of people into the wee hours of the morning. Just how this couple wanted, their day started and ended with fun.

A Look Back: Lauren + Owen

Before I met this bride and groom, I actually met the mother of the groom two years before at another one of our weddings and it was her calling me about helping in the planning for her son Owen's wedding to the woman of his dreams Lauren.

When I first met Lauren I knew she would be fun to work with and over the next 11 months it was a true honor and pleasure to work with her and her incredible future mother-in-law Hollie.

What made it fun was that Lauren was so laid back and easy going. She had a clear vision of what she wanted in her Fox Island wedding but just needed a way to take her vision she had in her head and translate that to reality.

Her vision was simple, beautiful and romantic and her colors of shades of pink, cream and blush and gray really reflected in the flowers, dresses and invitations.

For her flowers, we had Metropolitan Market create all of the personal flowers and then we ordered bulk flowers and then the Elegant Affairs staff went to work create magic.

Using cream and pink roses, curly willow and hydrangea in white and blush we transformed the three mason jars into a simple yet elegant centerpiece.

What I love most about working with couples is helping through the whole process from selecting a wedding date to helping to secure all of the vendors. I was over the moon when Lauren + Owen selected Melissa Kilner as their photographer. We first worked with Melissa just a few weeks after Lauren hired us and I knew she would be a perfect fit and she was.

We were introduced to a few new vendors and especially loved meeting DJ extraordinaire Stephen Morton who we ended up working with a few other weddings.

This July wedding was simply stunning from a gorgeous bride and her maids to the darling flower girl (the groom's daughter Dylan who we just fell in love with), to the grand entrance of the groom and his entourage off his step-father's yacht.

There were so many little touches we loved. From the margaritas to the food and cake everything was perfect for this amazing couple.
