Party Ideas fit for a Bachelorette!

Ladies, are you worried about what you’re going to do for your bride for her pre-ceremony festivities? Throwing a bachelorette party for your bride is one of the most fun parts of a wedding celebration! So relax and take a look at the list of ideas we’ve compiled for you. As we discussed last week in regards to the groom and the bachelor party, this is going to be a celebration of the bride’s soon-to-be wedded bliss, so make sure you target exactly what she likes.

Spa day / Spa weekend. The ultimate goal for most brides is relaxation. Treat your bride to a spa day or a whole weekend of massages, facials, pedicures, and seaweed wraps. The more friends that attend, the cheaper it is; everyone will be pitching in to cover the bride’s expenses. All of the pampering will also be relaxing for you, too!

Wine tasting. Set aside a day to go on a tour of wineries nearby, or take a trip to wine country within your state. If you’re feeling adventurous, go out of state and make it a little trip! Stop midday for lunch for a little pick-me-up and then hit a few more wineries before dinner. This gives time for everyone to chat and visit, and just have general downtime with the bride during the hectic planning. The bride will also appreciate a little break with some friend time in a relaxing setting.

Brunch. So many maids of honor have recently begun throwing lavish brunch parties within the last couple of wedding seasons. Brunch parties are the best! You can serve mimosas, play games, and make all of the bride’s favorites brunch foods. This is a great idea because you have control over the details of the party and can mold it to exactly what the bride likes.

Tea party. Tea parties or garden parties are in the same genre of ideas as hosting a brunch. Simple and easy to execute, an adorable little shindig where everyone can visit with the bride is always a good idea. Serve little sandwiches to accompany the tea, even offer a spirit or two for people to spice their teacups up!

Weekend getaway. If you want to go big, plan a weekend trip to your bride’s favorite location! Make it a 3-day weekend so there’s enough time to actually relax. It’s important that everyone can enjoy themselves! If the bride wants to do something active, go for a weekend of skiing in the mountains, or the opposite; boating and water skiing for a little fun in the sun. This is also a good time to plan hikes!

As long as you know the details about what is important to your bride, you can’t go wrong with throwing her the perfect bachelorette party. She’ll welcome the relaxation, or if she’s all about being active, she’ll appreciate the chance to blow off some steam with a beautiful hike or weekend skiing. On Thursday, we’ll focus on how to organize and ensure a smooth bachelorette party!

Kelley Farm | Winter Wedding | Kendall + Kyle

April 16, 2020 Lori Losee
Kelley Farm Wedding

Photography: Malorie Kerouac Photography | Wedding Planner: Elegant Affairs | Venue: The Kelley Farm | Hair & Makeup: Luxe Artistry-Seattle | Rentals: American Party Place & CORT Party Rental | DJ: Brandon Ghorley | Caterer: Act 3 Catering | Officiant: Brooke Moore (Bride's Aunt)

I had the privilege of meeting Kyle and Kendall at the beginning of the year at the annual Kelley Farm Bridal Showcase, along with their moms by their side. I could never forget how happy they were together, and Kendall's beautiful, bright smile that filled the room. I was beyond thrilled when I got the call to help them plan their winter wonderland wedding, because, from day one, I knew they would be such an extraordinary and lovable couple to work with. Along with being very, very organized in all of their details, their strong faith and family played a big part in planning and executing their dream wedding. With the passing of Kendall's late father, it was very important that we honored him throughout their wedding, so everyone, especially Kendall could feel his presence more than ever. Kyle and Kendall wanted to keep his spirit close in their hearts while celebrating their marriage with those friends and family most special to them during the holiday season. Keeping it intimate, rustic and yet festive, with Christmas trees, strands of greenery garlands and wreaths, the ambiance of lights and candles galore, along with the warmth of the fireplace, brought holiday cheer to all. It was such a beautiful way to close out the holidays while ringing in the new year as a married couple! The weather is so unpredictable in late December, we were preparing for the possibility of rain or maybe even snow, but it truly couldn't have been more glorious! As the golden rays of the sun radiated on the farm, our hearts filled with joy as we felt Kendall's dad looking down from above, shining the beautiful glow upon his daughter for her special day.

From the tears of joy and love, to fill their bellies with delicious food and abundance of laughter, Kyle and Kendall savored every moment with their loved ones. As a thank you and toast, guests were presented with Kyle and Kendall’s very own brewed Dark Ale in specially made bottles labeled with their engagement photo. Once their guests finished up the tasty beverage, Kendall, her mom, along with her brothers paid a special tribute to her late father by putting on Ray Bans and busting a move with a celebratory dance to "Power of Love" by Huey Lewis & The News. It was the perfect song and the most memorable moment between their family! Whether their guests continued the celebration into the night with a round or two of limbo, or indulging in ice cream sundaes, everyone, especially Kyle and Kendall had a night to remember. I had so much fun getting to know this wonderful couple and enjoyed being a part of such an amazing day. So crack open a PBR and cheers to Kyle and Kendall on a lifetime of happiness on their adventure together as one!

EA Vendor Spotlight: The Meaningful Details

April 15, 2020 Lori Losee
vintage wedding rentals

Tell us more about your company
The Meaningful Details is the name of our business.  We are an event rental company based out of Bonney Lake  WA  that specializes in unique and hard to find décor pieces.

Why did you want to get into the wedding industry?
TMD was created completely by surprise.  My oldest daughter became engaged and we, like many other moms and daughters, starting collecting for the big day. Once the wedding was over, the thought of renting our collection began to take shape. It's hard to believe that 9 years have passed by since we’ve started this adventure!

What makes your company stand out?

We quickly learned that our passion was not in the linens and glassware that we had first acquired, for these products can be found at all big party rental stores.

We dropped those items from our inventory and now only offer rustic and unique items.  Most of our rustic pieces were handcrafted by my father and all vintage pieces were sourced from hours and hours of browsing estate sales and vintage stores.  Also in our inventory is an extensive collection of chalkboards with many frame choices.

We have recently brought to our rental collection many  beautiful styles of mercury glass candle holders and are also looking into adding more marquee signs and letters!

Tell us about your personal style when it comes to your craft?

This “personal style” actually took a bit to find.   Once TMD was established and there was a need to purchase more product,  I would purchase items I thought were “needed”.   But I quickly realized that I was much happier when I purchased items I loved.   I truly enjoy frequenting estate sales for these are filled with a person’s once treasured items.  I love to imagine what joy these past treasures held for the previous owner and the stories they were a part of.  Bringing these items, whether it be a vanity mirror tray or a vintage light fixture out of their dusty hiding places to bring grace and beauty to someone’s event, now that brings me joy!  Or on the complete opposite spectrum…  to take weathered boards and re purpose these into rustic chalkboard frames or a beautiful bench -  yep, you guessed it.  More joy!

I’ve learned to embrace the fact that I can’t decide what style I enjoy most… rustic or vintage.   My past frustration in trying to choose between the two has been won over by the mere fact that in my book, these two elements go perfectly together!

Favorite part of working with couples?

My favorite part of the planning process is meeting couples for the first time to discuss their décor needs.

Quite often I’m told in advance what this client would like to look at or the style they leaning towards.   It always seems a bit magical to me when you see the decor style the client gravitates towards.   Many times, it is something completely opposite of what they had imagined for their event.

I never tire of watching the genuine excitement I see in a client when they have begun to nail down their decor design.

Favorite part of wedding day?
Without a doubt this would be when we are pulling into the venue with our clients chosen decor.   Many times, the couple is already onsite and I imagine the excitement that they are feeling as they hear the vendors begin to arrive, that the setup is finally happening!  That the day they have dreamed of has finally arrived.  Gets me all goose bumped every time!

Advice to couples in selecting a vendor in your category.
Do a bit of research into local rental companies to see what they offer.  Asking friends and family members that have recently gotten married if they have any referrals for rentals is always a great idea as well.   Like all vendors you have chosen for your big day,  you should feel at ease with the vendor you have chosen for your rentals as well.   Vendor relationships are key to the success of your wedding day!  If we are chosen to be your rental company, we not only promise to provide you with beautiful rental items but a high standard of customer service as well!
