EA Vendor Spotlight: I Do Bridal

April 29, 2020 Lori Losee
i-do-bridal.jpg

I Do Bridal has celebrated over 20 years in Seattle! With our years of experience, we have created the perfect destination for brides to find their dream gown! I Do’s stylists ensure that every bride will have an unforgettable experience while finding the perfect dress for them with our personalized, interactive one on one appointments! In 1997 we opened a tiny boutique in the Wallingford neighborhood of Seattle selling handmade veils, headpieces, and jewelry.  Within months our little store grew and began offering a small selection of dresses.  Over the next 7 years the little store expanded several times and eventually found a more permanent home on N 45th street just up from Dick’s Drive-In where it flourished for the next 10 years.  In 2014 we were able to purchase our own space on N 85th Street and expand our store in a new modernized space with high ceilings and high tech features to better meet our customer’s expectations.  In 2017 we purchased the remaining portion on the main floor of the N 85th St. building and moved our Off the Rack store “I Do Bridal Too” into the newly expanded space and added an Exclusive Diamond Suite. Putting all of our staff and gowns in the same space for the first time ever!  We are really enjoying our home in Greenwood and love to see the faces of our previous customers who come in with new Brides when they see how far we have come!  Thank you so much to every I Do Bride who has helped our little store grow. We are so grateful for the opportunity to empower women to feel beautiful for their big day!

Why did you get into the wedding industry?
It started by accident, creating custom wedding accessories. It quickly grew as we fell in love with helping brides express their own unique style.

Personally as a bridal stylist, I wanted to work in a business where you are working with people during one of the happiest times in their lives! Formal wear fashion was something that I was always interested in having a background in pageants. So becoming a bridal consultant seemed like a perfect fit for me. (

Something that makes our business stand out
We provide a dress shopping experience for everyone! We have a diamond suite that can be purchased for brides who would like a big “say yes to the dress” experience, but we also cater to brides who have a quick wedding date and need a dress fast with our “ Take home Collection". Carrying 900 gowns in-store at all times with price ranges from $600-$3,000 we are guaranteed to have a dress that fits every bride’s needs and style!

We also pride ourselves on our customer service. We do our absolute best to ensure that every bride has an amazing experience from the time she books her appointment to her wedding day. Our stylists work one-on-one with each bride during their entire appointment to ensure that they get the very best advice on what works with their shape, style, and budget.

(Our shop is 3 levels with gowns on each level. We also have 10 fitting rooms that include; 7 standard rooms, 2 premier rooms, and one diamond suite.)

What is your personal style when it comes to your craft?
Our personal style is finding unique, and affordable options for our northwest brides.

I will tell you our favorite part about working with brides:

During the time with them I get to make a connection and find them a dress that fits their specific body type and makes them feel the most beautiful they have ever felt! Watching a bride cry happy tears because they LOVE the way they look is incredibly empowering!

Advice when dress shopping:
When selecting a bridal shop I always suggest going online, or to their social media to get a feel for each store. Then choose a store that you feel fits your vibe and personality! Also consider their gown selection and the style of gowns they carry. Some shops only carry a certain style of wedding gowns, where other stores, like ours, carry an array of designers with different styles and price points.

EA Vendor Spotlight: The Meaningful Details

April 15, 2020 Lori Losee
vintage wedding rentals

Tell us more about your company
The Meaningful Details is the name of our business.  We are an event rental company based out of Bonney Lake  WA  that specializes in unique and hard to find décor pieces.

Why did you want to get into the wedding industry?
TMD was created completely by surprise.  My oldest daughter became engaged and we, like many other moms and daughters, starting collecting for the big day. Once the wedding was over, the thought of renting our collection began to take shape. It's hard to believe that 9 years have passed by since we’ve started this adventure!

What makes your company stand out?

We quickly learned that our passion was not in the linens and glassware that we had first acquired, for these products can be found at all big party rental stores.

We dropped those items from our inventory and now only offer rustic and unique items.  Most of our rustic pieces were handcrafted by my father and all vintage pieces were sourced from hours and hours of browsing estate sales and vintage stores.  Also in our inventory is an extensive collection of chalkboards with many frame choices.

We have recently brought to our rental collection many  beautiful styles of mercury glass candle holders and are also looking into adding more marquee signs and letters!

Tell us about your personal style when it comes to your craft?

This “personal style” actually took a bit to find.   Once TMD was established and there was a need to purchase more product,  I would purchase items I thought were “needed”.   But I quickly realized that I was much happier when I purchased items I loved.   I truly enjoy frequenting estate sales for these are filled with a person’s once treasured items.  I love to imagine what joy these past treasures held for the previous owner and the stories they were a part of.  Bringing these items, whether it be a vanity mirror tray or a vintage light fixture out of their dusty hiding places to bring grace and beauty to someone’s event, now that brings me joy!  Or on the complete opposite spectrum…  to take weathered boards and re purpose these into rustic chalkboard frames or a beautiful bench -  yep, you guessed it.  More joy!

I’ve learned to embrace the fact that I can’t decide what style I enjoy most… rustic or vintage.   My past frustration in trying to choose between the two has been won over by the mere fact that in my book, these two elements go perfectly together!

Favorite part of working with couples?

My favorite part of the planning process is meeting couples for the first time to discuss their décor needs.

Quite often I’m told in advance what this client would like to look at or the style they leaning towards.   It always seems a bit magical to me when you see the decor style the client gravitates towards.   Many times, it is something completely opposite of what they had imagined for their event.

I never tire of watching the genuine excitement I see in a client when they have begun to nail down their decor design.

Favorite part of wedding day?
Without a doubt this would be when we are pulling into the venue with our clients chosen decor.   Many times, the couple is already onsite and I imagine the excitement that they are feeling as they hear the vendors begin to arrive, that the setup is finally happening!  That the day they have dreamed of has finally arrived.  Gets me all goose bumped every time!

Advice to couples in selecting a vendor in your category.
Do a bit of research into local rental companies to see what they offer.  Asking friends and family members that have recently gotten married if they have any referrals for rentals is always a great idea as well.   Like all vendors you have chosen for your big day,  you should feel at ease with the vendor you have chosen for your rentals as well.   Vendor relationships are key to the success of your wedding day!  If we are chosen to be your rental company, we not only promise to provide you with beautiful rental items but a high standard of customer service as well!

EA Vendor Spotlight: Angie Evans (Beauty)

April 8, 2020 Lori Losee
seattle wedding beauty vendor

Tell us about your business!
Angie Evans is a Seattle Based Wedding Hair & Makeup Artist. With over 15 years experience in the beauty industry, in 2020 she will be  entering her 9th year as a full-time Hair & Makeup Artist. Angie not only brings an immense amount of talent, but a fun, upbeat energy, truly putting you at ease the morning of your nuptials. Her style of makeup is fresh & sultry, always with a gorgeous hairstyle up her sleeve to compliment and finish the look you’ve designed together.

Angie comes equipped with a full team, enabling her to accommodate small intimate weddings on her own,  as well as large bridal parties with a full glam squad. Whether you’re eloping atop a mountain, throwing a glamorous party, or running away to Mexico, Angie is excited and ready to glam you up!

Why did you want to get into the wedding industry?
Connection is everything to me, and in every form. I don't think it is has to necessarily be marriage between two people, but just witnessing and being a part of such an important story is so fulfilling for me. This type of celebration is full of that, between parents, siblings, friends, etc. That and I just can't get away from anything artistic in life. If I weren't a makeup artist, I'd still be designing or creating art elsewhere. I love telling stories with color.

What makes your business stand out?
Having a makeup business in Seattle, I would say my business stands out with my experience and love for all skin tones. Whether you're Irish, Puerto Rican, Asian, African, or any beautiful mix in-between- rest assured I have a gorgeous look for you and we will have a blast creating it.

Tell us about your personal style when it comes to your craft?
I would say the base of what I do is always very timeless. I want things to last all day, I want your photos to turn out amazing. I do always try to add a dash of sexiness with everything I do though. A little edge to each look so it feels exciting, and creates that little spark in your belly. I also like to have a good time getting there. I love to connect with my clients and have fun during the process.

Favorite part of working with couples?
Taking them to the next level. I have quite a few clients that don't wear makeup regularly, or have not necessarily thought of themselves as "sexy". I love creating a look that they not only feel comfortable with, but are excited about. I love handing them the mirror and seeing their first reaction of "Is that ME?!". I always know we nailed it at that point.

Favorite part of wedding day?
Brides with their moms or grandmas. So much joy in those tiny moments.

Advice to couples in selecting a vendor in your category?
Without talking to them, fall in love with their portfolio. That will narrow it down to 2-3 people. After that, make it a point to chat with them and see who you truly connect with the most. Connection with your artist is insanely important and I think it's overlooked quite often. If you aren't connected to the person who is in charge of your look on your Wedding Day, that is where mis-communications can take place and really put a damper on things. Trust your gut!
